LOU Update April 20

Dear members,

On April 1, the APUO sent out a summary of the four additional Letters of Understanding (LOU) signed by the APUO and the Central Administration regarding the expectational circumstances brought on by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These LOUs are available in full below:

COVID-19 Performance Assessment of Members

COVID-19 Promotion, Tenure, and Continuing Appointment Processes

COVID-19 Student Evaluations for the 2021 Calendar Year

COVID-19 Use of PER by Members Who Retire During the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

Negotiations for LOUs addressing the Impact on Course Development and Delivery for the Spring/Summer and Fall 2021 semesters have been ongoing since February.

The APUO has also established an Equity and COVID-19 committee that is looking into redressing inequities arising from our work in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic for members of equity-seeking groups.

The APUO will provide an update on these efforts in the coming weeks.
