Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee

Mandate:

As per Article 17.1.6.2 of the Collective Agreement, the APUO and the Employer agree to establish a joint consultative committee on equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee (EDIC) provides an opinion on any contemplated employment equity, diversity and inclusion measures and procedures affecting the APUO bargaining unit. They may propose measures and procedures that affect the selection and hiring of members of equity-seeking groups, or their working conditions.

The committee reports annually to the University President and the APUO President on the success of employment equity, diversity, and inclusion procedures and measures and the need for revisions to these, if any.

The committee is composed of eight members, four members appointed by each the Employer and the APUO. At least one appointee per party will be a woman. The chair of the committee is elected by its members and has the right to vote.
