We are at the bargaining table. Now we need to show our collective strength.

Our Negotiating Team has been at the table with the University administration working to secure a fair collective agreement, one that protects high-quality education and research and strengthens transparency, participation, and accountability in university decision-making.

Unfortunately, the Employer has so far refused to sign proposals that would strengthen these principles.

At a time when university spending has not been evenly distributed, this refusal is especially worrisome. Administrative spending has grown faster than investment in teaching, research, and the student experience.

Why make the pledge?

Collective bargaining is not won at the negotiating table alone. Our Negotiating Team can only secure meaningful gains and effectively respond to Employer proposals when it can demonstrate the resolve and unity of APUO members.

That’s why we conduct collective actions designed to measure and build our members’ participation and demonstrate our collective power.When a majority of APUO members participate, we send a clear message to the employer that we are prepared to stand behind our Negotiating Team.
