1) APUO Lead up to Collective Bargaining Lunch

In preparation for the round of collective bargaining scheduled to get underway in Winter 2024, the APUO is hosting a lunch with members to discuss bargaining issues. The discussion will be organized around four themes:

  • High Quality Research and Education
  • Collegial and Democratic University
  • Equity and Fairness
  • Salaries and Benefits

Lunch and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

2) APUO General Meeting and New Office Open House

The APUO’s next General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday December 14th from 10am to noon. Members will receive a notice with the meeting details in coming days.

The General Meeting will be followed with an Open House at our new suite of accessible offices located at 1 Nicholas Street, suite 1204. Members are invited to drop-in at any time between 12:30pm and 4:30pm to tour the new offices and to meet APUO executives and staff.

3) uOttawa Removes the APUO from Email Platform

uOttawa is removing the APUO from its email platform. As of December 1st, the APUO will no longer be using email addresses ending in @uottawa.ca.

4) CAUT Member Travel Affinity Program

The Canadian Association of University Teachers has negotiated a new online Member Travel Benefit Program with Local Hospitality Inc. The CAUT Member Travel Affinity Program is available to APUO members and offers discounts and savings on hotels, car rentals and select entertainment events. (Disclaimer: CAUT does not receive commissions on any bookings made via this program.)
