In our January 25, 2024 Member Advisory, the APUO informed Members of the Employer’s unprecedented refusal to permit a seconded APUO member to return to their unionized position in contravention of Article 17.6.3.2(d) of the APUO Collective Agreement. The APUO has since learned that the Employer is refusing to permit the seconded member to exercise their right to resign from the position to which they were seconded.
Considering the Central Administration’s Kafkaesque actions, the APUO urges Members to refuse any invitation to be seconded from the union to take up a position in the administration until this matter has been resolved in arbitration.
The APUO will keep Members informed of further developments.
