Our current Collective Agreement expired April 30th and collective bargaining with the Employer began July 7th.
During this first session, the parties began by exchanging their list of proposals before each presenting their demands and concluding with a question-and-answer period. Overall, the day provided the opportunity for both parties to get a sense of the current context going into this round and to begin reflecting on a path to negotiate our respective interests. The next sessions will be held on July 14, 15, and 16.
You’re invited to read the APUO proposals tabled for bargaining, available here, and the Employer’s proposals, available here. As in previous years, proposals relating to salary or health and benefits will be tabled at a later date.
You can also find the members of both negotiation teams here.
Staying in Touch
At the University of Ottawa, the Employer removed email access from the Support Staff of the University of Ottawa (SSUO) during their strike in 2020. As is standard practice for unions engaging in collective bargaining, we are asking that you please share your personal email address and telephone number with us. Doing so ensures that, in the event of a future lockout or strike we will be able to remain in contact with you. The APUO collects personal contact information to maintain reliable communications infrastructure with members.
Share your information by clicking here. The employer can cut access to university email accounts. Your information will never be shared with a third party.
